It actually happened. Really, truly happened. Kurt got some time off of work. How many years has it been? Hmmmm..... too many. We took full advantage of it. After the Riverton parade, which Kurt had to be in for work, we finally pulled out of our driveway at 10:15 p.m. and hit the open road.
We arrived in St. George at 2:30 a.m. and got a hotel for 5 hours so we could sleep. We stayed at the Best Western Coral Hills. Newly remodeled andcame with a deluxe continental breakfast. For the few short hours we were there, this place was awesome!
Once we hit the road it was smooth sailing all the way to Cali. Approaching the Gorge, I got a little anxious from our previous experience, but Kurt told me he would "obey" the road signs and go the limit that they posted. I don't know if you've ever followed the speed limits posted when going over passes or steep curvy roads, but Kurt says the signs posted are just suggested speeds. Ha! At least he thinks they are suggested speeds. And I will admit that if you actually followed the speed posted it is is a little slow, but with my anxiety going through the Gorge, the speeds posted kept my anxiety at bay.
We safely made it to California. Now.....it is time to vacation.
