{Hedbandz}

Andrew was staying the night with us, and so we invited the other sibs over for a little get together.  We sent Kurt out for the junkfood and he came back with licorice, pringles, and hershey kisses.  Hershey Kisses..... We gave him a hard time, as we thought there were waaaay better choices than Hershey Kisses.  You know like peanut m & m's, or Reeses Pieces, or even Sour Patch Kids.
Our Hedbandz game got intense.  Owen had a geat time playing with the big guys.  Kurt was stuck forever trying to guess his card, bee.  This is a must have game to have in your game closet.  It's great for both kids and adults alike.

{For the Birds}

One day, out of no where hundreds of birds paid a visit to our neighborhood.  It was crazy!  Like Alfred Hitchcock crazy.

{Hey, Hey, It's my Birthday!}

Today I turned 37 years old.  I am definitely starting to feel my age.  I don't know if I act it, but I am feeling it.  Kurt got me some flowers and a huge balloon.  He took me out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack where he gave me my birthday present, a gift card to the Nike Outlet.

After waiting FOREVER to get our food, I found my crab pot to be doused in paprika.  Blech!

After we ate, we headed over to the Nike outlet and got me two pairs of running pants and two new shirts.  I was pleasantly surprised when I had to get a size smaller than I thought I was.  YES!

{Weekly Randomness]

*It's currently 2:10 a.m. on January 17th.  It's officially my birthday.

*Mom is still in the hospital and has run into some complications.  She had a breathing mask, but with the oxygen at 100% she was still having a hard time breathing so she had to be intubated, and may be put on dialysis tomorrow.  She is retaining fluid like crazy and her body isn't expelling it like it should.  The fluid is causing her kidney's and liver not to work and making it hard for her to breath.  They gave her some liquids to drink and think that she may have aspirated it and now she is showing signs of pneumonia.  We keep praying for her everyday.

*I have been combing through insurance claims for 4 hours.  What a pain.  We owe some money, and I really don't want to pay it.....  Stupid insurance messed up.  They fixed it, but in the process it ended up screwing us.  And now we are paying for their mistake.

*I don't think I will ever get on top of my household duties or the piles of paperwork that keep piling up.  My house has been a wreck for..........A.VERY.LONG.TIME.  I am slowly cleaning and dejunking, but it's taking forever.

*Our family has upgraded our technology and we are now able to Facetime.  It's awesome.

*Finn started to hold his bottle and can feed himself pretty ok.  Still needs some assistance every now and then, but he's getting pretty good at it.  I'm so proud of him.  I don't know why I thought he wouldn't be able to do this until he was much older, but he is.  We can check that milestone off!

*The kids have been out of school for the last 3 weeks.  They go back next week.  I have loved this off track thing.

*Kurt has been running and he ran 12 miles the other day.  He is preparing for his first half marathon.  My legs hurt just thinking about running 12 miles.

*The pipes in our kitchen and laundry room keep freezing.  It's super annoying.  The dishes and laundry keep piling up.  It came back on yesterday.  I kept getting up every 2 hours in the night to go run the water to make sure that it wasn't frozen and so that it wouldn't freeze again.  I didn't get much sleep.......  It has been super cold lately.  I don't remember the last time it was this cold.  -11 in Utah, and -25 in Idaho.

{Bath Time}

He's finally used to it.  At first he'll grab onto his baby chair for dear life and lay there stiff as a board for about 2 minutes all while thinking about crying.  After a few minutes, he'll start kicking and won't stop.  He can't get enough of the water.

{Me and My Momma}

While most of us will be sleeping, tomorrow morning at 4:45 a.m. my Mom will be heading into surgery.
Open heart surgery.

I was grateful that I was able to take the kids and spend six days with her last week.  We will be thinking of you and praying for you all day tomorrow.
I love you ♥

{Fun in Idaho}

While visiting Mom we took some time to play in the snow.  Kurt and Isaac would wiz by as everyone tried to pelt them with snowballs.

Eli getting a snowball free ride of his own.

Random pictures of everyone.  Keani had her 5th birthday while in Idaho so we celebrated it.  Drakeli was also able to come play with us for a bit.

{A new year}

2013 is here.

And with it, it brought a renewed high insurance deductible that starts all over.  A good look at our budget that needs to be Dave Ramsey-ified, and student loans that seem to be never ending.  Frozen water pipes from the freezing cold weather that we've been having (we are on day 3 of frozen pipes.  we get cold water on and off.  but we have no hot water in the kitchen or laundry room-the dishes are starting to pile up....).  A messy house that still has christmas decorations looming that need to be put away.  And a car that although has been an awesome one, is nickel and diming us on a regular basis.

With that being said.  2013 has also brought us together with my family in Idaho for a week.  It brought with it a church time that starts at 11 a.m.  And kids that are off track for another 2 weeks.  I have a healthy baby who is showing no signs of sickness (hallelujah).  It means killer deals on after christmas items-hello Reses' Peanut Butter Cups!  It's a fresh start on eating healthy and getting into shape.  Setting new goals and striving to become a better person.

Even though there is always bad, there is always good too.  May we all strive to turn the negatives into positives no matter how grim.

2013  bring it!

{Sunrise, Sunset}

Sunrise out the front door.
Sunset out the back door.

{Just a little off the top, please.}

Finn got his first haircut the day after Thanksgiving. His hair was becoming a little unruly and it was starting to topple over. I didn't tell Kurt I was cutting it, and he was a little sad to see it go. (I did tell Kurt that I was going to cut it someday/time.  He just wasn't there when I actually did it.) It was time to cut it though. Kurt got over it real fast. How could he not with a cute face like this?
